Ayurveda: A Science of Life
Ayurveda is the foremost comprehensive medical system available to mankind. This treatise originated in India more than 5,000 years ago. Ayurveda, the healing science, is the first of its kind to focus on the prevention of diseases and restoring health with herbs and lifestyle modifications.
Ayurveda has two approaches: the preventive aspect and the curative aspect. The preventative aspect, based on individual constitution, explains what one should eat, what the daily activity should be, and how to cope with seasonal instability, such as variability of cold, rain, and heat. Furthermore, there is a wide range of factors that contribute to bodily imbalances, which can be addressed through food and activities that promote health and longevity. Rejuvenation, anti-aging and detoxification are primarily discussed and followed to attain equilibrium of mind and body. Tracking a good lifestyle according to all that is said in preventative methods helps in the achievement of immunity and bestows a healthy life.
There is extensive description on diseases and their management. Ayurveda gives an eye on how to read the imbalances, how to diagnose the disorders and the selection of the right herbs for healing. The implication of management promptly halts and slows down the progression of pathology and impending complications. This Science does not focus only on treating a particular disease, but it looks at the whole system through a functioning plan. The well-defined investigation process mentioned in Ayurveda helps to form the diagnosis. The methodology comprises finding the causative pathological factor, analyzing the disharmony effect on bodily tissues, and showcasing signs and symptoms that are linked and evaluated extensively to compute the damage done in the body. After the diagnosis, the treatment is contemplated/planned to combat the disease by the use of herbs, food and practices. The last leg of treatment continues until the entire body has recovered and gained immunity through rejuvenation and the use of supportive herbs.
The inception of specialization initially emerged in Ayurveda,* looking onto the need of different treatments which is carried further now in modern science.
The word Ayurveda is coined in Sanskrit and comprises two words: Ayur, meaning life or existence, and Veda, meaning knowledge. So Ayurveda is the science which brings understanding of how to live a happy and healthy life and attain peace. The primary goal of Ayurveda is to make people live a healthy life both physically and mentally.
